Default Removing the dash on a 2002

I just recently traded my jeep for an accord and i've aquired a new set of subs that i want to install into the stock accord. I have two questions, the first is whether i can splice the wiring for the subs into the rear channels from the receiver; and number two, which is the most important question, is how do you get the radio out of the dash. I have unsrewed the two bottom screws and popped out the molding on the bottom, but the top seems to be attached to something that i cant see. I think it's attached to the vents or the back of the clock but it's driving me crazy, because no matter how i look at it i can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Removing the dash on a 2002 (ucfjeepster)

hello. welcome to the 6th gen accord dash. check the time.... there's a screw behind the clock. pry gently, maybe use somethin flat on the side, it should move with some foreful motivation prying on the sides. then remove the bottom two screws and pull gently around the edges. after those 3 screws it's held on only by clips. 4 or 6 total, i forget, i haven't done it in a while. so after the clock is out, unplug the harness to it, and then take the screw behind the clock out. pry out, and you can start disconnecting the climate control harnesses, etc. the radio will come with the dash piece. held in by screws. i take it you have a stock radio? i'd go aftermarket..... i'm biased with eclipse. then there's no splicing, separate channels to hook the RCAs into already. if you need anymore help, my AIM screen name is glassjawphreak.
