Doing a mini-me shouldn't take that much longer that taking one engine out and putting another.
The only EXTRA steps are unbolting the D16Y8 head off the original block, then bolting the D16Y8 head, headstuds, and head gasket on the D15Z1 block.
A Y8 head and Z1 block should have matching timing, so unlike a D15/Z6 head mini-me, that is a headache you don't need to worry about.
Beside's it'll be worth it, if you put that whole D15Z1, you have 90 HP moving your heavy EJ6, if you use your D16Y8 head on the D15Z1 block, you should be around the stock rating of 127-ish. Give or take because compression change, and displacement change.
Also, if you use your head, you have ZERO wiring changes needed.

Changing the pump is something you do for peace of mind, when putting in another engine. I replaced my first D16Z6 in my coupe with another D16Z6 block, using the same head, and the oil pump with the ":new" block. A month later I got ECU
code 22: VTEC oil pressure, then a week later The pump went out, engine almost caught fire, so instead of buying a 3rd SOHC, I just went B16.... If the D15 has low miles, go ahead, if not, use your D16 oil pump, if it's too risky, just get a new one.
A new D16Y8 headgasket
Reuse your D16Y8 headstuds
I can't tell you how long, too many factors....
