I have a 93 Civic Si - Made in Canada - (or assembled) - The car currently has a Nippondenso (ND) starter that has a top or side mount terminal for the battery connection - there are two other starters manufactured for that generation; both of them have battery terminals on the end of the starter.

1) ND for NON Canada manufacture
2) Mitsubishi FOR Canada manufacture

MY question is: Are all three starters interchangable? - or can I only use the "for" canada manufacture starters?

they should all be interchageable not 100% sure but i put a starter off a y8 on my friends 94 lx the stud for the battery cable was in a different spot but it worked just fine.

 

All of these will interchange. 100% sure, the process to rebuild and parts will be different.
