Hey all, My alternator recently died on me! I am kinda low on cash. Anyways my buddy found an alternator off of a 84 Honda Civic. mine is an 89 DX 1.5 EFI will an 84 alternator bolt onto my 89 or are they different? Thanks

 

Distributors earlier than 88 had a vaccum advance unit on the dizzy itself. Now that's old school tech right there. I'm not even sure the wiring would match either, and the engines are completely different in internal design, so at least installing it would be a big question.

D15B1/2 engines did have a vaccum advance unit but it ran off vaccum from the intake manifold. Its the little plate you see above the throttle plate that people call restrictor plate.
