Went to the track tonight to see what we could do. Car is 96 EK full interior with stock suspension.
Motor:
GSR
stock sleeves
stock head
arias pistons
eagle rods
cheapy turbo kit (had laying around and thought we'd try it)
stock ecu
vafc hack
440 rc injectors
stock mounts
9.5 lbs boost

blew the head gasket on the 4th pass went 121 mph
next pass:
60': 1.886
1/8th: 7.793
MPH: 94.755
ET: 11.993
MPH: 117.677

we're gonna change the head gasket tomorrow and maybe give it another try tomorrow night. hopefully get it into the mid 11's.

not bad for that amount of boost and not bein gutted

 

i was there it was good seeing the car finally go 11's get it down now.i am down for the track friday night.maybe the guy with the srt going 11's will be there too.those were some good runs between you and him.

What are u doing for timing management????I hope not FULL ADVANCE.....That will kill that poor gsr motor really quick...

 

motor has been running just fine for over 10,000 miles. The owner of the car drives it to and from work, and wherever else he needs to go.

 

Just got the head gasket in, not sure if we're gonna run tonight. Anybody else plan on heading out to Firebird tonight?

lol i agree....thats fully built to me.

 

You guys are funny, those times are pretty impressive to me for a full interior ek with low boost and for just "throwing" the pistons in, i think he even used the same old bearings....oh and he isnt running alot of timing....

 

sorry, i didn't know people would be so picky. stock sleeved gsr. is that better?
i guess i learn something new everyday. Since this motor is "fully built" I'm not sure what to call a motor when somebody has sleeves, head work, valves, springs, retainers, manifold, cams, etc etc etc. i guess that would be fulliest built. lol

Sorry, I feel rods and pistons is a built motor. I was just curious what you meant by "stock" since the only thing stock is the sleeves, no need to get bent out of shape. 11's is fast either way.

 

holy ****.. EVERYTHING is 'stock' these days.. LOL

 

not getting bent out of shape, just think its funny that people think that to be a fully built motor. the entire top end of the motor is stock,as well as many other things.

those are some great times...

 

a cheap ss autochrome manifold, custom ic piping, tial wastegate. We ordered one for a customer, and he never picked it up so we thought what the hell, give it a try. I was actually very impressed with it

 

my frend ran a 10.5 on stock gsr block 15 psi.

ya, sorry about that paul. impressive tuning performed by pxrd, making 440's run on a stock ecu.
