Default 30k ok to switch to synthetic oil?

i have a JDM B20B and had a quick question, would 30k miles be alright to switch over to synthetic? also wondering if it is possible to mix synthetic with regular oil first instead of just switching to full synthetic right away. any comments are appreciated. thanks, jeff

That mileage for synthetic is ok to use but not necessary.

BTW there are some brands that allow you to mix synthetic and regular oil. Valvoline is the first brand I can think of.

Switching or mixing 'types' oil has nothing to do with brands.

Leaking caused by switching to synthetic oil is not the problem it was decades ago ... but the rumors, myths and warnings soldier on.

Plenty of people switch woith no leaking issues even past the 100,000 mile mark.

German Castrol 0w-30 (Red "Made in Germany" label on back), or Mobil 1 Euro 0w-40 for second choice. 30 weight M1s shear down to almost 20 weights.

Both of which can be found at autozone.. probably the best oils you can find locally. Extended OCIs is no problem when used with a quality filter.
