zc exhaust header
i was looking at some zc swaps and found that the stock zc header will not match up to the stock exhaust.. has 2 pipes coming from it. why? did they have daul pipes to the back or what. looks like a header is the way to go with this swap or a si but if you have to buy one . mite as well go with the header. right?
You can use a 92-95 Ex or Si down pipe with the ZC top piece. It hangs a little lower than it should, but I ran mine for about 1 year on a civic that is pretty damn low, and never really had problems. I got mine from the junkyard for $10.
I'd go aftermarket if you can afford something decent. Don't get a cheap (pace setter) header though. If you don't have the cash, pick up to Si bottom piece until you do.

It will match up to the stock midpipe, you must be looking at some chopped up down pipe or somthing. The stock ZC down pipe merges into a collector that will match up to a crx/civ cat flange BUT somtimes when the motors come over from Japan those collectors are chopped off and all you have left is the 2 pipes from the downpipe.

I have a DC sport 4-2-1 ceramic header port matched to the ZC if you are interested. You can email me at hellspawnonline@hotmail.com
Ya, I ran into that problem, where the header here are a 4-1 design, and the zcs had a 4-2-1 design. You have two choices, find a 2-1 pipe to throw on there, I actually have one, it came off an SIR, (but I need it) or, get a new header, or throw your old header on there. I ended up using my old header, and just took a dremel tool to open up the ports on the old header a little more.
