So they're moving Solo2 Nationals...
... to Heartland Park for 2006. I'm guessing the venue will be asphalt.

Any thoughts as to how this may affect a class like SM with a wide variety of cars? I'm wondering if my FWD (though lightweight..) SM Honda will be rendered less competitive on asphalt than on concrete. I love the grip concrete has to offer, but have actually driven on some asphalt surfaces that were nearly comparable.
Opinions?

If the right kind of asphalt is down, grip should almost be as high.
I personally don't mind the switch. Street tires seem to like asphalt better anyways
And at least we won't need to worry about the military kicking us out (like in 01).

Yeah, I guess Kumhos seem to like asphalt pretty well compared to Hoosiers also. Hmmm.... This may spell some relief to my tire budget!

i would think that asphalt chews up tires more than concrete. i autoX in concrete and my tires (azenis) are always "shreaded" after a good pratice run. but when i bought tires (azenis) and rims from someone who autoX on concrete...they were super smooth!

Will that push Runoffs a week later also? Maybe they will go back to the original October dates?
(We were not kicked out in 2001. We voluntarily left the site)
