Default what are the chances ????

Well since i have blown the motor and the turbo seal my R is going to be down for 5 - 7 weeks ?? I have been contimplating the idea of a jdm front to finish the car, with the exception of minor things. but the exterior will be done.

what are the chances that i could find a 98 jdm itr front w/hid in sunshine yellow ?

has anyone ever gotten one ... i heard they are really hard to get because sunshine yellow was limited in 98 because of the yellow R interior ? I know that they are out there just wanted to check with you guys to get your thoughts.

Thanks in advance

Chris it happend like 3 weeks ago, we were street tuning, and i took the car out smashed on it for 2 days car pulled hella hard, then i noticed it just didnt feel the same, pulled off the charge pipe and oil was blown everywhere.

pulled the motor with my brother and we didnt see any major damage to the block actually it was still pretty much perfect, i think my rings were getting ready to go soon. im sure the seal is bad.

so im taking the motor to RS machine tommorow in LA and im getting the block sleeved bored out to 84.5 and installing arias 9:2:1 pistons and eagle rods. im also upgrading the turbo to a super 50 still t3 t4

Even if you were to find a yellow jdm front, the condition usually needs repaint anyways.

Yeah, I ran a HPDE with a cracked piston, I got enough oil from my valve cover breather into my intake to fill my intercooler with oil and spit oil out my BOV Was your oil from the valve cover breather or the turbo itself?

That's bull that your turbo failed that quick. Of course, my first one only lasted ~8 months

Edit: Good luck on the JDM front.

it was blowing out of the valvecover....it sucked bad, oh well i can only hope the car will be fast now thanks for the concern chris

Im still in luck though, turbonetics has a 12 month warrenty on their products, so im just going to pay 300 and upgrade to a super 50

i just didnt want to have to repaint the front end asap, thats why i kinda wanted a yellow one.

hahaha

They were limited to the Type-Rx in 2000 only not 98. I have access to JDM auction houses and in the last 12 months i have only seen 4 of them for sale. It is possible to get them i'm sure but they would be extremely rare

Isn't "sunshine yellow" just the JDM nomenclature for the USDM PY colour?

You'll find Atlantis before you find just the front for sale.

as mentioned before, you'd have to repaint most likely anyway. it's not like one would be able to tell a difference if you got a regular jdm front-end, painted it PY, and compared it to the "sunshine yellow" front-end from japan.
