Ran at the local 1/8 mile track last night. Tell me how good this is. I'm a noob to drag racing...
I got three runs, they were all getting better. These times are on STREET tires (falken ziex 502's). Setup is stock d-series motor pushing 10lbs. (the last run was the best, as I got better each run). I know my driving sucks and my 60fts blow but by the numbers what should the car run? 1/4 mile predictions?

with a better set of tires you would easily be mid-high 8s in the 1/8th. So I would think somewhere in the 13 sec range if you could get out of the hole.
Your 1/8th mile time is almost the same as mine from last night. I ran a 14.2 with a 9.2 1/8th mile time. My MPH is only 77 though at that point of the track, so you would probably beat me at the top end of the track. My guestimate is 13.8, maybe faster if you can get out of the hole better.
i ran a 9.3@83mph with my sohc vtec @ 10psi. 2.48 60' on hoosier road race tires with no burnout (rednecks at the track wouldn't let me go through the waterbox)
with a decent launch, you should be mid 13s

ROFL that is the funnies thing I have heard all day.
So with drag radials/slicks you all think mid 13's? Remember my 9.3 was on some crappy street tires.
Either way Ill take mid 13's in a autocross preped car. Im trying to get more into drag racing though.

Same thing happened to me at my old track. I damn near had to kick someones *** to get to use the water box.
Thats pretty damn good for a stock D and a new driver/racer.
For comparison sake my stock gsr went 9.0@80 on a 50 shot. I expected that to equate to a very high 13 or 14 flat, but i never made it to the 1/4 track

What motor was that on? This times are very impressive. This was only my 3rd time at the strip so I still have alot of learning to do.
And yeah it was at the valley.

your still faster than me. My **** is blown up right now. The trick is loading up the clutch and suspension and getting your 60 ft down. I just let off it enough to hook right after the launch. Also dont worry about the tree for your best time just go when your ready.

How do you go about loading the car? I have heard some people say put the e brake on and let the clutch out just enough so you feel the car want to pull forward, then just release the ebrake when your ready.
