i have a b16 swap (previous owner did ghetto job) and my lower front crossmember is cut (because of the header) and its a really shitty job. I've been researching on swap guides and they don't say you have to alter this... is this true? because what i understood was that you needed to cut it to fit the headers... i'm asking this b/c the way he cut it, he made the cut too long so its about to split in half... so i gotta buy another one and i would like to know if i could buy a stock one or aftermarket (jim fab or z10) lower crossmember. I don't really like the fact of cuting into another one like the previous owner did... help please...
Is it a stock B16A manifold, with the dual 02's? If so, then it's probably not necessary to have a cut cross member. However, it all depends on the engine mounts that are in it. Some place the engine further back, lower, higher, etc.
Mine, however, worked fine. I used some mounts that mimick the old Hasport mounts.
