Default Idle Problems after engine swap from blown b16b to b18b...

After the swap...everything seemed pretty good...but tell one problem started to happen...when turning on the car it sort of gives a lil' sign as if it wants to turn off...and when the car is steady...the idle stays like at about 1,000rpms...when accelerated to like about 3,000rpms...when let go of throttle...idle stays at about 1,500rpms...but starts to like jump from like 1,500-1,700 or 1,800...and sort of a constent backfire{bamp,bamp,bamp,...} comin out of the exhaust...and white smoke...what can it be also i have a P06 ECU of a 92 DX OR EX i think...can the ecu be the problem...? should i purchase the P75 which is the factory ecu for the b18b???
