IDEA: Carbon Fiber look hood.
Has anyone though about doing up a OEM metal hood with a sheet of carbon fiber and then clear coating it.
By this I mean, we all know what carbon fiber hoods look like. We all heard about bad fittings broken or chipped corners and busted latch where the hood pops open while your on the freeway. So I think if a OEM metal hood can be done up like a carbon fiber hood I'll do it. Not with the used of carbon fiber look vinyl, but real sheets of carbon fiber. I know carbon fiber is a weight saving material and this defeats the performance side of things, but hey this is the good look posting area.

While we're at it, lets all stitch "BRIDE" in our stock seats, make fake roll cages out of PVC pipes, and bolt plastic milk jugs in our trunks and call them fuel cells.

...the whole purpose of getting a carbon fiber hood is the weight savings. Too many are missing the point of carbon fiber. I personally think carbon-fiber looks good, and the fact that it's much lighter than the factory honda hood is a plus!

Like I said I like the look of a carbon fiber hood, but not the fact it has weaker latches.
I know the point of carbon fiber is to save weight. But hey I don't care I want the looks and the OEM metal quality and fit.
Also I'm not talking about the vinyl looking film. I'm talking real carbon fiber weave over a metal hood.
So keep the
comming.
