typical woman driver here with a ?
Ok so my mechanic guy told me I need some tubing or some wires replaced in my car since its a 99 and still had the factory ones. Don't recall what they are called, but he said if I did this that my car would save gas and pick up quicker.. Anyone know what I speak of and if so do I really need it..
you're mechanic is lying.. tubing is tubing.. unless it clogs or something along those lines "leaks, cracks, or holes" it should not be replaced. My car is an 88 Accord and has the same wires as when i bought it
Unless there was a recall on some hoses that I wasnt aware of....
Unless your o2 sensor is bad....
You need a timing belt changed...
I dont know those are the things I can think of.

hello again prisky, yea i don't know what your mechanic is talking about, unless its like what accordselux said, but yeah let us know what particular tubing it is and get back to us, cause i got a 99 accord too, and havent replaced any of the 'tubing' yet because it shouldn't need it
Probably ignition wires (cables which run from the distributor cap to the spark plugs). I replace mine every second tune-up. Replacement usually indicated by intermittant rythmic rough idle and loss of power under load, as one or more spark plugs stop working
*I hear nothing "typical" here, you're asking the correct questions

x2. Could you be a little more specific?

We can't see your car from here. It's possible the spark plug wires (or vacuum hoses) have degraded & you need new ones. It's also possible they're OK & he's just saying that because lots of cars have wires that don't last very long.

All that stuff (wires & hoses) goes bad faster when it's so hot.
