Tire Opinions Needed
Alright, here's the deal. I've got a boosted 02 EX accord, which is a blast to drive, but the time has come for new tires. I would like to try some high performance tires that are good & safe at all tread levels in the dry & wet. I can live without excellent traction in the snow, but they can't be too much of a dog in the snow. It would be nice to get some with treadware of atleast 30k miles. As for price, I need to stay under 400 for the set. As for sizes, what would be the benefit of going up +0 in size, as I have to stick with my stock wheels. It also has to have enough meat on them to not go flat cause of shitty roads. My car is at stock height, with the exception of only about 4 fingers in the back due to a heavy as system.
The OE size is 195/65R 15.
+0 sizes range from the following:
205/60R15
205/60R15
205/65R15
205/65R15
225/60R15
225/60R15
215/60R15
Post up some opinions & recommendations.
Thanks

i got a set of 215's on stock rims, the El Dorado's are nice (what i have) for the price, and at that size you have more rubber to the road for better traction, and yet not too spendy..... just a thought
I'm partial to Toyo Spectrums. A great tire with a tread wear rating the highest I've seen. I've had them on all four(4) Accords I've owned. An excellent street tire with no bad habits. Slightly harsher ride than touring tires, but a minor trade off for a tire that sticks great. Lifetime roadhazard warranty thru Townfair Tire

Ok, I've figured out that I need the following in the performance tire choice:
all season tire - still need to get some snow traction out of em.
H or higher speed rated
89h or higher load rated
V rated or above.
205/60 15 or 215/60 15 in size.
I've been looking, and am still looking for more opinions. I would also like to keep this too major manfs only, just my feeling to do so.

if u wunt a hi-po all season tire look into the toyo proxes 4, nitto neo gens, or the pireeli pzero(or was it nero??) M+S...the name of the pirelli myte be off, cant quite remember exact name, but with a lil web searching im sure u'll find wut im talking about...
those sizes dont realy offer a lot in real performance tires. if you have spent the money on turbo'ing your accord you are still on stock wheels in stock sizes? why not move up to some 17's? I have a set of ADR Fuel 5 lug for sale for cheap money

picked up a deal at a local shop and got a set of Yoko's AS430 in 205/60 15.

I know that I would not feel much of a difference in performance, but I want to keep the stock wheels for now and needed a set of new rubber. I have achieved my "sleeper" look which is one of the reasons why I didn't want to get a set of rims. I was thinking about getting a pair of 17's in the past, but chose to spend my money on boost instead. I may get a set of rims later, but for now, I'm rockin stock.

any opinions on them?
Thanks for all the input.

DITTO!!!!!!!
they are rated #1 for all season tires.....they are by far the best tires i have ever owned.....and aznaccord is right, they are very sticky when dry..... i can barely turn over 3rd gear. and every other person i know with shitty tires on a h22 accord can turn tires in 3rd...
very good tire though!!!
EDIT: by the way, i have 205-55-15, good amount of width with lower profile look

Now for a tech question about wheel's n tires. With the AS430's that I have, the footprint is 8.2 inches wide. I'm guessing that even going with a 17" wheel, the footprint of the tire wouldn't be that much more than ~8 inches wide right? If that is true, then the only real gain from going with a 17" would be the looks right?
I am baseing this on a 17" which will not rub or require the fenders to be roled in a 6th gen accord.

225/whatever/17 should fit w/o problems since im assuming your "sleeper" isnt slammed. with 225/17's, your contact patch will 3/4" inch wider on each corner. this is a lot more launch/cornerning/stopping power! its not just looks

Yeah, my "sleeper"
isn't slammed, and will not be slammed, but maybe lowered about 1.5" later. So with 225's, depending on brand, the contact patch would be closer to 9 inches wide. How much more of a difference would an extra .7 inches or so make in performance launch/cornerning/stopping etc..? I'm not an expert, but would just like to know.
Thanks

I am running 205/50/16 fuzion HRi's on my 16 inch Rota Circuit 8's. My car is lowered with neuspeed sport springs that are basically 1.75 inches in the front and 1.5 inches in the back, its an aggressive stance without looking like the suspension is non-existent (lowered 4 inches which is the look i used to have). It rides well for its ride height and the tire is excellent handling, quiet on the road and wears really well.

3/4" difference from a 8.2" wide patch will give you a patch that is 10% wider on each corner! i dont have any numbers on the differences (the difference woudl also depend highly on the type of rubber u buy), but.. everything else being the same, youll definitely feel the difference while stopping, going, and anything in between. wider=better!

I guess your right, but a difference that you can feel is what I was thinking about. I figure, that with my stock wheels, I have a larger footprint, so why go and get 17" wheels to get an even larger footprint. I mean, for daily driving, and occasional "aggressive" daily driving
I probably would not feel the difference.
Thanks all.

I think I'm compromising with the set of tires I have on now.
