Who's racing??
The Del Slow is still ready to go.. Haven't done any more work on it yet, but it is good enough to finish off the May races. Once we finish these I have a bit more to do, get the rest out of that build. It is getting there though!!!
Can't wait for the weekend.
Someone get some soom good race group pictures?!?!?!

I'm sorry guys, I'm out for the season it appears. Moving expenses have the better of me, and I still have to pack all of my **** in 7 days

Sorry to hear that. I was excited to run with you again, now that my car is running properly. We had some great racing in H4 at Firebird the other weekend! Maybe you should sell you car to Eric so we can keep H4 growing! Hope your move goes well. Definetly keep in touch.

Yea, I knew I would only be able to do one more event before I moved, but as it turns out it's going to be no more events. It's just too damn expensive to buy a house and move 2k miles, plus I wouldn't have enough time to take off to prep the car and spend the weekend in Phx.
Sell the car to Eric? No way, it's too much car for him. Plus, I'll be using the hell out of it in FL, work willing.

I've got to get some more use out of this car now that it's pretty much ready to go. I'm glad I at least got in one more event with a "full" H4 field last time.
I told you I'd be leaving just as soon as H4 got good

Bummer Travis. I was really hoping to get to run with you one more time at PIR. I hope everything goes well with the move and the new job.
If you need anything, just let me know.
I hear you on the financial struggle. We just got hit with $600 in vet bills this week, plus another $2.5k for surgery that will mostly likely need to happen in the next month (big dogs = big bills). This really wasn't a good month to spend $1k+ on racing, but F it. I'll figure it out over the summer.
Got my oil changed, shift light fixed, and a couple other misc type things done, so my car should be good to go. I haven't even unpacked my tools or anything from the last weekend.
We're gonna see if we can get Jon's car a little faster before the weekend yet. For some reason, he has a fuel cutoff at 6300 RPM. He's missing out on 10% of the rev range that Danny and I are enjoying. Should be some good H4 racing once we get that taken care of.

Hey guys, have fun this weekend, I'd love to be there but I must spend some time with MOM this weekend!!!
I wish there was a way I could drop the GSR from an H3 car to H4 without changing to whole entire engine. No LS swap in the near future for me.
I'd love to drive Travis' car, as long as the arrive and drive program is as good as mine.
See you all at the end of May. I spoke with Scott about the ASRA Enduro that is held in June, anyone else interested in it? Travis and I had a blast last year, it is one hell of a good time.

Sweet. I thought you were going to miss both May events. Glad to hear you'll make it out for 1 weekend. I'll e-mail you soon about the enduro.
Jeez ... just realized I need to have everything ready to go by tonight! Man, that snuck up on me quick. Time flies ...

I'm looking forward to it. Just to give you racers a heads up...there will be some changes in the race groups. Basically, if there are less than 5 cars in a particular class, all of those cars will be moved to their respective Pro Sedan classes. This is a great move as it will widen the field as well as increase the contingency payouts. I don't want to say too much yet, as I'm not totally sure how it works. What I do know is that Toyo pays all the way down to 7th place in each field.
I'll be out this weekend, but it will be my last driving for the summer. I simply am not willing to subject my daily driver to the heat that will inevitably be at the 21-22 event. I will be there though.
On the upside, I'm moving yet again, into a house with a friend of mine. I'll have space to put the CRX so I can work on it more, which will be great. I'm still planning on a late fall/beginning of 06 season entry into the H4 field. It all comes down to dollars for me, of which I have very little. I'm looking forward to building the Honda Challenge field. I talked with some H4 guys out in SoCal this last weekend and picked their brains about what they are doing that we aren't. Here's a hint...DRINKING. Those guys get together every friday night and have drinks, this builds comraderie and moral, as well as networking. Keep this in mind, I know a couple of us HPDE ****** do this quite often, and I will be more than willing to call those that are interested in joining us.

Well, not to defibrilate a dead thread or anything, but I have to say that this weekend was by far the best H4 racing I've seen yet. Even though there were only three cars for H4, we ran nose-to-tail HOT laps around PIR.
How hot? Well on Sunday, Danny took the lead on the start and immediately set the pace into the 1:14's. Scott and I got around him only because his rear tires turned to jelly, and Scott had to break the lap record by three tenths just to shake me off his big red ***.
Scott, congrats on back-to-back, blistering 1:14.4 laps and a new H4 record, man. You deserved that win.
It ought to make you feel damn good to be turning laps 4 seconds faster than that 900-hp Lingenfelter Vette on RA1s.
However, *I* was the only H4 driver to not try the backwards line through two this weekend.
See, I learned my lesson last time...

Not to bust any bubbles, but I was wrong on the track record. It is actually a 1.14.1.. Sorry guys.. One of us will get it next event. The track just needs a little more heat!
You know what else I realized the 1.14.8 I turned was lap number one, that was off of a rolling start.. Imagine what that would have been if I had the speed coming out of Nascar.
I really think it was not fixing my tire pressures that killed me. I don't think there was any heat in those tires to raise it that 4 psi before the race. Oh well, there is always next race! But who knows I could have just completely forgotten how to drive .
You guys both get bad props! You and Scott both drove awesome races this weekend. Scott actually pulled into the points lead, but he has a better race thus far to drop. I may have to not finish a race so that I have something better than 3rd place points to drop. You get half of the last finsihers points for not finishing, so that gives Scott the best race out of all of us to drop!
It is going to be a good season. I hope this will bring some more cars out to race with us now that they are seeing our lap times and competition.
Again, great race guys... but you better watch out next time. I'm buying a new pressure gauge damn it
edit: anyone who wants our H4 points spread sheet send me your e-mail. I have it all auto calculated to last to the end of the season. You just have to add the date and the points! Racer or not I will send the spread sheet if wanted. Just let me know!
2 edit: I may be wrong about the drop. We may drop the race we missed, which would keep me in the lead, but not by a ton! I will figure out how the drops are working this season and get back with you all!

Man, you got me all hyped up thinking that I set the lap record. Now I'm gonna have to go out and try to drive even faster.
Heh. That was a pretty funny graph. Jon and I ran every single lap within a second of each other. Most were within .5 secs of each other. I think you and I did the same thing except for the two laps you tried to take the backwards line through 2.
Thanks for the congrats guys. That was one of my favorite weekends so far. We all fed off of each other and we kept making each other faster. This weekend's racing was the epitome of why I wanted to join race group. It's the best way to get faster faster (faster squared). Thank you guys for doing the lead-follows in the morning. I picked up about a second in time just using what I learned in those sessions.
Travis - too bad you weren't out there. We had an awesome time and we would have loved for you to have been right there with us.
