(I NEED QUICK ANSWERS PLEASE)y8 intake manifold or z6 manifold??? (already searched)
Well my question is for my setup which intake manifold would be better? for more power?? I have the y8 manifold sitting next to me and would like to put on tonight.
will the z6 throttle body bolt up to the y8 manifold also?
My setup:
92 cx hatch w/ z6 swap w/ z6 intake manifold
dc sport 4-1 header
aem short ram intake
stage 2 clutchmaster clutch
short shifter
full greddy exhaust w/ test pipe
tokico blues w/ lowering springs
What manifold would be best???????

Well you didnt search...cause this has been asked so many times...
But the answer is Y8 intake manifold is better. And I would assume the z6 TB body would fit as alot of people swap around with different TBs, weather its a B16 on a D-motor.

i did search and the only thing i came up with was the saying that y8 is better for low/mid range and the z6 is better for high range. I wasn't looking for that answer cause not all setups are the same. So i figured i'd post up my setup and wanted to know what was better. thanks for the smart *** comment though. Anybody else?
Ummmm........ the y8 manifold is better in every way, I've heard people call it the "type r manifold of d-series".
The throttle body will probably bolt up, but there may be a couple cable fitament problems. Like when I put my y7 throttle body onto my y8 manifold, I needed to swap the little wheels that the cable attached to.
Other than that, it should provide you a little more power in the whole rpm range.

Just make sure you're intake manifold is from a manual Y8, otherwise you'll have to drill and tap a couple holes in it.
Check out my write-up
Here's a crappy diagram of the holes that'll need to be drilled and tapped: crappy diagram
