New HASport mounts and shift linkage Q's
with regards to the new mounts, ive read
that HASport have moved the engine position
back somewhat, so:
for those of u that have cut and rewelded
90-93 teg shift linkages what is the measurement
that u removed...???
also with this new position, do u still have to
"dent the drivers side rail" as per instructions...
or is it no longer required..
any info to these new mounts and installation
would be appreciated..
thanks

The mounts do not position the engine further back at all... they actually tilt the engine forward slightly. So, your existing shift linkage will still work with the new mounts.
As for the "sledge-mod", if you are running the stock-length belt, you will still have to do it... but not as much as before. Now, you "could" run a belt that is 1" shorter, and adjust the alternator appropriately... doing this *may* provide you with enough room to be able to fit the engine in without altering the frame rail with the BFH... only thing though, is if your car has been in an accident, or if it is slightly mis-aligned, the pulley will hit... basically, there still may not be enough room, so it is probably a good idea to mod the rail, simply for a bit of extra clearance anyway. If you use the 1" shorter belt, be prepared for it to be a b!tch to install the belt.

Just to add to the subject of the frame rail hammering, If you remove the factory 4 rib altenator pully and put the stock crx 3 rib on you gain more clearance. You will also need to run a 3 rib belt now.
