Seriously though, the classing doesn't necessarily go from fast to slow. Fact is, the Camaro and Mr. Miatas are faster than the ITR and 330s.

People often think that the class letters are indicative of potential speed.
They think that SS is faster than AS > BS > CS > DS > ES > FS > GS > HS
This is just not true. therefore the PAX indices do not follow the same order as the letter order.

Not only that, they make the assumption that the class letters remain consistent with regard to speed across stock and street prepared (and the rest).
Not to mention that SM is "Street Modified" as opposed to "Super Modified..." I can see where someone new to the whole classing thing could get terribly confused.

On a similar note, at a recent event we had a guy questioning why his SRT4 (DS) went to CSP and not DSP. Apparently he had thought since it was D-stock, it should be D-street prepared. But alas, it doesn't work that way... :

Even though that'd be the CORRECT class for the SRT4, as far as competition goes.

But until someone writes to SEB to get the thing reclassed, it will rot away in CSP. How about one line in DSP that goes like this: Dodge Neon (All)...
Edit: Is SRT still a Neon?

I do that as well... It just peeves them in the worst way and I also mention that if that's the case, why does it depreciate like a regular Neon?
Looked it up on kbb.com A 2003 SRT-4 is valued (trade-in) anywhere from the low to high 13's after only 2 years on the market depending on condition (good or excellent).
1. Either they haven't shaken the regular Neon reputation and are a true steal used
or
2. They really are crappy cars after the new car smell wears off.

Some places (Edmunds, JD Power) list it as a separate car. Others (kbb.com) list is as a trim level under the general "Neon" list.
In reality, I thinks it's like an ITR - same basic tub, but with lots of tweaks to all the components.
