Picking up my integra this weekend from the shop. Finally done, it's been like almost 2 year since it was stolen and stripped down to it's wire harness. I got everything in order now... I've been running around in a B16 Eg6 for a hot minute. I wanted to start using my integra for my daily driver and my EG for fun weekend runs. B16 is JSPEC and have type R tranny, head work and it's just like a bat out of hell some nights. I get better gas mileage out of my integra due to me pumping more fuel in my EG plus my daily sprints in vtec and my stereo system, 3 amps, 3 subs, EQ and cap are just way heavy. I wanted to strip it down but not bring any attention to myself. Question is you guys running around gutted out, do you bring the attention of the police to yourself. If push comes to shove I'll tint it.

 

As long as you leave your passenger seat in, you should be fine. If you are still worried about it then, just tint the back 3 windows.

 

my car eg is competly gutted out, i've been cleaning out the back and front to reupholster so far i just need to take a out the carpet and get it cleaned if not get a new one, all rear panels, back seats have been removed. my windows are tinted really black, but as far as any police i've never had any problems drawing attention to my self. i would get the tint it looks really nice and the only way they see whats in side is if they press up right against the window.

dash and driver seat and infinity basslink. never hear anything from the cops. i have Tint all the way around. and battery kill switch and fuel kill switch. removeable steering wheel and garage kept with 3 camera's

i envy your anti theft deteriorent system.

 

lol go to sam's club they have a killer camera setup for 300. 3 camera's mini tv with recorder

also forgot to mention that they gotta find my house first...lol Gotta love country life. Surrounded by cornfields

 

I have my battery relocated to the back of the car. Cleary visible if I gut it. I have a garage but my feeling is that the man will more then likely call me on it. You know.

 

My experience has been ok so far. Went through a road block one night for alcohol check. The police questioned where my back seats were and I said I sold them. He asked twice and I answered the same answer twice. He looked puzzled.

I want to gut the dash or take it out but for a Canadian daily driver, I need heater at least so I am just gonna hold on that.

I wonder how much FAL quater panel glasses cost. That would be a good weight saving. But then I will have no tint on them, or you can still tint these?

 

My room mates EG is gutted except for the front 2 seats, he too has a JDM b16 swap. He has a stock looking exhaust, CF hood and soon to be white rims(black with a lip right now), he hasn't caught any heat at all from the cops. He got stopped at a random Drunk driving stop one night they took one quick look in and said "we he doesnt have anything in his car" and kidna laughed, let him go on peacefully.

 

ha ha. yeah, it kinda makes "Do you mind if I search your vehicle?" a retorical question.

 

Why would the cops care if your car was gutted?

Is it illegal?

 

just put 5% on your back 3 windows and no one will ever be able to see in

 

in TN at least, 5% tint is illegal but gutting your car is not. As long as all passengers have seats and seat belts.

 

No problems with cops here. as a matter of fact the think its funny. its the quickest car search they ever have to do. But i also have 10% all the way around with a 5% strip. sooo... you cant see in the car, or out at night.
