Cleaning underbody?
Okay i want to clean the underbody of my car, mostly the rear (gas tank, LCA and surrounding areas) of all that black grease or what ever it is so that’s its nice and clean. But I was wondering if i should do this or should i just leave that stuff on? Also my car isn't rust proofed because i never drive it in the rain and it’s stored in the winter.
Heres an example- see the underbody beyond the gas tank where the b-pipe is, its all black but the gas tank and surrounding area is all white. Im wondering if its like that behind the black stuff or was this repainted?

The gas tank in your picture is black, like it comes from the factory, the white part in the foreground with the tow hook is the spare tire area.
Theres nothing wrong with the underside of the car.

agreed, just leave it alone, there is no point in cleaning this, no one ever sees it anyway.

If I were to clean my car's belly I would get a lift, spray it all down with simple green & brush what I could then use the standard good pressure garden hose. real simple and cheap.
I think if you did any more then that you might be removing coatings that should be there.
