I was riding with a buddy of mine, and going around a curve and there was roadkill on my line I must have fixated on it and then before I knew it the curve was to my left. Went for about 50 feet into a grass field, and came off going about 15-20.

I sprained my ankle, and damaged my enthusiasm for riding.

Could have been a lot worse.

Ahhhh that really sucks man, glad you are okay.

 

Glad you are more or less ok. I got lucky riding over a tarp a few weeks ago in a turn. Scary stuff.

Just the front fairing of my 500R, but it is all one piece, not sure how much they run, but probably $500 or so.

 

If you're not too worried about looks, just bondo it for now. Or duct tape.

 

Glad to hear that you are alright

It's also very good to see that you are looking at the accident and examining the factors that led to you going down.

You probably won't want to ride for a while but the true test will be in a few weeks when your on the highway in your cage. A bike is going to pass you sounding oh so sweet and then you'll find out if riding is really for you.

Give it a couple days, I'm sure we'll see you up on two wheels again soon (heck, I still haven't gotten my ride in with you).

Sorry to hear that. I noticed that I'm always kinda tailgating when I ride. I realize that if a car was to go over something, I don't leave enough room to avoid it. Hope you get well soon.

Did you hit the roadkill or just blow the turn because of it? Glad you weren't on some hotshit supersport bike that might have made you think you can ride faster into that turn and then blow it with worse results for you and the bike.

Not sure exactly man, my buddy I was riding with said "ya musta hit that roadkill" I am not really sure.

Took my bike to Valley Kawasaki today. It is indeed still mechanically sound. I was originally selling it for around $2000, now it is closer to $1300.
