Default 5th gear swap in a m2s4 (h23a) transmission???

Hey guys, just a little background before i post my questions:
I drive a 97 SE automatic (god I hate the slushbox) f22b2 - I have been given a whole 94 prelude si (manual h23a) for less than $100 b/c it had a blown motor and needed alot of body work, but almost all of the parts i need for the 5speed swap in my 97 SE are on this car; the m2s4 transmission included. I already have all the other parts and am just waiting for a good time to do the swap.

Now onto the questions!
Before swapping in my new h23 m2s4 manual trans, I decided to investigate gear ratios of what my car had as an auto and what it will have with the m2s4. After reading all I could find, I have determined that the optimal trans for not only better acceleration, good sized gears for boost (in the future I hope), and for reasonable gas milage as compared to what I am getting now, would be the m2s4 manual trans with an F series manual trans 5th gear or final drives. Now I have read that all the gears a swappable besides 2nd and 3rd so I know it can be done. My question is how. I have never ripped apart a transmission besides changing a clutch, so I dont really know what to expect (I have dropped an h22a1 out of my buddies prelude after we blew a head gasket at 8.7psi so I'd say myself and my buddy who will be doing this with me are adaquetly mechanically skilled).

So what would consist of doing this swap? Would it work? What would need to be changed? Has it been done? I know others on this and other accord forums have shown interest in this but I know of no one that has done it. So can anyone help me? Pics and diagrams would be lovely... or mabye even a diy or instructional?!?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

btw this 5th gear/fd swap will be done, the question is just of how many trannys I screw up and how long its going to take...

thanks again!

Drew

well unlike changing a clutch, you will actually have to physically open the transmission case to do such a swap...i believe the final drive is actually dependent on the differential, so swapping that out means swapping diffs...no big deal though b/c all h/f diffs are interchangeable...anyways, you will need the Accord or Prelude Helms manual to show you diagrams and tell you what is what inside the transmission...there are some special tools for taking apart/assembling transmissions though, all of which the helms should provide you knowledge of...good luck
