konis without brake line brakets... do they ever slip?
I'm considering removing the brake line brackets from my front koni shocks so I can gain a little more shock travel and maybe shed a tiny bit of unsprung weight.
It appears the way to secure the brake lines is using multiple chained zip ties, but I'm wondering if anyone who races with such a setup has ever had any slippage, since the shock fork usually rests upon the brake line bracket.

The original setup has the fork resting on the brake bracket which rests on the nipples on the shock. If you take the brake bracket off, then the fork rests directly on the nipples. Not a big change
My preferred method is to cut a bunch of the brake bracket off and then hose clamp it further up the shock. Basically the same as the zip tie method, but a little more solid.

There is actually a dimple in the shock that the pinch bolt fits into when you are using the brake bracket. When you remove the bracket and slide the shock further into the pinch fork the bolt no longer fits into that dimple. When you put the bolt into the pinch clamp it will actually cut into the body of the shock a little and pull itself across the shock. Not very pretty but I did this with my OTS Koni's at the beginning of last season and had no problems. They are on the STS2 car now and are still working fine.

I'd love to see it, I'll search for it...but do you mean CRXLee?
