Evap Canister Q and A
I removed the Evap canister on my OBD 2 car the other day and then started getting a CEL code of 90 Evap canister leak near fuel tank. so i erased the code, removed the selniod valve adn plugged the manifold and i haven't gotten another code yet but i only ran it for about ten minutes.
my question is has anyone else gotten codes on doing this? And if i fixed the problem or if there is something else i have to do to stop a code from showing it's ugly head?
adn if you do not know what removing it does or what it does period search it's what i did!

how is this CRX and 88-91 civic related?
on the other hand, you like to create problems for yourself, don't you? the ECU will learn that there is a sensor missing and give you a code, one way to get rid of the code while removing a part of the system is to remove the code from the programming in ECU for that sensor.
or just put the canister back on, it does not hurt performance by any means.

ah crap, yeah i guess i accidently put it in the wrong forum, my bad guys
thanks for the reply and sorry for the trouble
i know that it doesn't hurt performance but it does have weight adn cluters up the engine bay, that is why i took it off. I didn't mean imply that it hurt performance.
