Bell has a wide variety of helmets in different price ranges. They're okay - some are lighter than others, etc. Make sure you try on the helmet before you buy, to make sure it's reasonably comfortable for you. (You can't tell just by measuring your head.)
Those are fine for autox and HPDE

i wholeheartedly agree with spiff. if you're gonna get a helmet, get a SA one. if you don't i bet you a dollar down the road you'll bump into something that requires SA and won't use M Class
-jeff, who is going to an event in 2 weeks that requires SA helmets.
oh yeah, i bought a Bell

If you have a big head and not over 6' tall I'll recommend the Bieffe Integral GT.
It's very comfortable breathing and speaking if you don't mind the semi-Star War shaped mouth facia.

Well Bell hemlets look like a POS. Naw, but the finish is far from extrodinary. The visor mechanism that supposed to hold it up uses a cheapy little plastic shim that looks bound to break. Meets the Snell requirements tho.
Get a SA certified helmet. If you ever, sometime in the future, drive in a car with a rollcage and crash your head will thank you, because it won't be bashed in. SA helmets are made to hit repeatedly. M or motorcycle style helmets are made to hit one thing very hard, one time, asphalt or other cars.

Tell them that someone sent you and had told you that you would get a discount, but you don't remember his name.
Ask for 10% off or so.

M2 is a good helmet if you want full face with lexan shield - that helmet has a bigger eyeport than others, which is good if you wear glasses or sunglasses while driving.
I personally have the SR-PRO and like it just fine.
Don't bother with the M helmets if you're going to do any HPDE, go right for the SA helmets...
Bell is well-regarded for their helmets, and if anybody tells you the finish is no good (on a brand new helmet), they must have seen a rare example - never heard of anything like that.
Simpson makes a good helmet as well.

As everyone said above, get only a full face helmet with a SA2000 rating. Bell makes the best helmets in the world. My son and myself where Bell Helmets. Make sure you try them on and get the right size. A little too tight, you will get headaches. A little too lose, it will come off in a rollover when you need it the most. You only have one head that is irreplacable, how much do you value it?

I believe that would be me. Maybe there might be others, but I have said this a few times here since I believe in never compromising with safety equipment and the guys at Sube believe in the same thing. They are very helpful and will answer all your questions concerning safety. Do tell them I sent you and they will give you a good deal and service.

Hi, I thought this came-up the other day... about M and SA helmets.
I thought the end of was the difference between the helmets was the SA's (Car ) were made with Flame proof material(Inside). The M's (Motorbike) don't need the Fire proofing option. As they aren't as likely to get stuck inside with a fire.
Bell Helmets are fine. Like all of the above, go with an SA.
I like the Vortex turbo air.( in a perfect world)..... But will probably end up with a M2. I can't justify spending that much for a helmet I get to use 4-6 times a year.

Wow, thanks! I will never look at my head differently again. Whats your name? What name do i say that sent me? I guess i will give them a visit to find some 1on1 info.
My son also is currently leading the CART-Skip Barber Western Region Formula Dodge Championship and is considered to be "the man to beat" for this years CART-Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship, a by invitation only series for the top guys in North & South America.

Basically, after 150-200 dollar range, all you pay for is the exterior designs and the interior comfort. A 700 helmet is going to work the same as a 200 one in a crash.
