If it's a non-vtec then it sure ain't the d16y8 and 16's is about average for basic bolt ons.

He's right...1 tenth off of the 60ft is ~2 tenths in the quarter mile, so if he had ran a 2.2 60ft (launched better) he would have ran 15.9

but 2.2 60s is real hard to get on street tires with 20% of the tread so he would of got those 2.5 was his best out of 2 runs his other one was 2.9

Some kid in my town with a d16y7(what your friend has since its non-vtec) w/ the d16y8 IM, intake and exhaust ran 16.4 this was in a del sol so your friend should be able to run quicker

Set the tires to 20 psi and feather the clutch...its not that difficult...especially when your car isnt making any power

Great advice. I cut a 2.16 60' on some BALD es100's at 15 psi. Tires were so bald, you couldn't see the tread in the middle of the tire (you could barely feel it though). It can be done.

It's not too good for the clutch...

But it means engaging it...and when you begin to feel the tires slip...you press it in just a little bit....so you're always JUST about to lose traction..but you don't.

hummm My hx d16y5 Vtec economy ran 16.4 with nothing but a muffler. My 93 si sohc ran 16.0 with an apexi exhaust..so i dunno you just need a bit more work on the 0-60 i guess...
