Default Getting a CRX next weekend.

Getting a 1991 CRX next weekend for $500 as a project car with a few friends and we can't decide on what to do wit hit. We first need to replace front fenders, drivers side door, and springs. After that we cant' decide what we want to do, money is a problem, because we are still in school and only have part time jobs. So it has a d16 in there now. Should we do a swap? Forced induction? All motor?

What have you guys done with your cars for relatively cheap that you had the most fun doing and now that your done you think it was worth every penny?

And this is also going to be a learning kind of thing, some of us know very little while some of us know more. So any swap writeups or anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

do whatever YOU want to it. dont just go by what other people say to do. if you want all motor then go for it. if you want a swap then do it. the motor you have right now is an ok one to keep for a while. but remember...go before show...

Yea I know, I'm notbasing it on the most popular idea in this thread, I'm just seeing what kind of money people have put into their to make them happy, because like I said money is an issue. And I want to go turbo just because you can do it cheap and it's relatively simple, but my Prelude is turbocharged. I wanna do a swap because it would be more challenging, but at the same time, I've never done a swap so I don't know what I'd be getting myself into.

So that's why I'm looking for writeups or alternatives that can yield similar results.

I'm from richmond, my cousins both had nitrous zc motors in 1997 and ran like a 13.1 then but thats about pushing it if you went with a zc. A b16 everyone has but its still a great motor for the price. I'm going with a sohc vtec for my personal preference just because i want to stay light and i love the sohc vtec motor it pulled very nice in my 92 hatch si so i can imagine great things with it in my 91 hf. I am planning on spending under or around 1500 for everything with the swap should be done within a month or two. Hope I helped some. Jason

I've got a 90 CRX DX with its' original D15B2 motor, stock 13" steelies, wrong year DX seats with non matching bolt holes, a leaky hatch, a broken driver's side window regulator, a temp guage that says I'm constantly overheating, some rust and a spraypainted or dyed black-from-original blue interior that looks like it was done while still IN the car by a 2 year old. Do I have money? No. Do I have dreams of an all motor or forced induction car lowered and painted? Yes. It'll get done...slowly but surely....but it'll get done.

Ask here for opinions but decide amongst yourselves what you want to do!
