How much are they? I've heard of people running front motorcyle tires that are rated for higher speeds too.

Little tip, Metzeler's are the lightest! Just pay attention to the load rating and you should be fine. They are DOT approved and there is nothing in the NHRA rule book that says you can't use them. It is just up to the track to enforce anything they think is considered "unsafe". This is my setup... 11lb 1994 RX7 16x4 wheels with 9lb Metzeler tires.

I've got some Honda Civic VX rims for now. They are hella light.

I got my skinnies through Will @ exospeed. Then gave John @ MH a call on the 24 3.6's

which one most of this size skinnies you guys use for 600+whp. 15x3.5x22 or the 24's. Thanks.

 

It kind of depends on every application. I.E: Chassis that it is in, suspension, size of front drive tires, amount of rake that you are looking for. As far as me, I run the 15x4x22 Mickey Thompson.

I'm running the M&H 22x3.5x15. BTW, I have a set of like new(only 5 passes) MT 24x4.5x15 I'm selling. Heres the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1118477.

 

I know these skinnies will mount to a VX wheel, but do you guys think it will be safe to run up 130mph traps with them?

thanks, I should reword my question. Are they safe mounting onto a 4.5" wide rim? I think VX wheels are 4.5"

245 60's daily.

M/T 26 x 10 x 15 if I wanna have some fun.

 

The speed rating on the Metzelers is V (up to 149 mph). The load rating is 550lbs. Best of all, it's a 9 lb tire on an 11lb rim.
