Hey whats up guys, my friend and i were arguing that the stock tach in our 3rd Gen Integras are not accurate, i say their not and he says they are, and are aftermarket tachs (autometer,etc) accurate, more or less? give me some insight,tia

 

aftermarket tachs are usually more accurate. stock ones can be off up to 500 rpm (over or under) at higher rpm.

when I had my 5" tach............that thing read 1,000 when idle...and stock read 700....but when its rolling it reads about the same...wierd....

 

When I shift at 9000 on the tach my AEM EMS logs 8400.

 

no they are not accurate...you need a tach the size of your head...on you automatic integra, to be able to find out your real rpms.

 

i think mine is right at idle then the higher i go the more it is off by
