Default 24 Hours at Daytona!

I didn't see any ITR's, but it's nice to see that the new racing season has started. I hope that Speed Tevevision will continue to show road racing all year.
On another note, my new 2.2 liter engine hits the engine dyno next week before going in my car. I can't wait to see and hear it!

They are as they been showing all the new Speed Channel lineup since mid Jan. It's basically Speed Channel now just it doesn't legally change until Feb 11th and thats only reason the anouncers are still saying Speedvision until the 11th...then all the logos and such will change..but other then that not much will change. They actually showed more road racing recently then they normally do during a given day and the day to day coverage of the WRC is unheard of only in European countries normally.

I just hope it doesn't turn into a nascar-only channel.

I was thier and it was funny to see the logo swapping. For Friday's Grand Am Cup race all the announcers had their SPEED Channel stuff on since it's not going to be televised until after the 11th. On Saturday and Sunday for the live Grand Am 24 Hour race, they all had on their old Speedvision stuff. It took me a while to figure out why Calvin Fish had a SPEED Channel fire suit on in the pits on Friday and then a Speedvision suit on Saturday and Sunday.

There were a whole bunch of ITR's in the Grand-Am Cup race on Friday. I'll have pictures up shortly...

I saw those as well, since I was camping inside T3 on Sat night and I walked right by where you guys were parked about 20 times to get to the pits/paddock.

PS- What a kick *** weekend!

Jon, where were you at? I tried to call you Thursday and Friday but no answer. Sucks that I didn't know the rest of you guys were there. I could have used some poeple to hang out with. I went with some older guys and they were asleep in the van by 11pm Saturday night!! And no, alcohol was not even involved in this!!

You didn't leave a message on my cell!!!???!!! I would've called you back.

Seriously, I left the email with the #'s of the people to meet up with on my desk accidentally. Sorry about that! But I did have some unexpected meetings on Friday so I didn't have a lot of time left over anyway.

However, leave a message next time! You truly missed out on a Saturday Night Adventure. It *did* involve beers... many beers, in fact... and that camping lot by NASCAR T3/T4 gets pretty rowdy, which is very fun indeed. One of the people I went with came back to camp with a significant piece of carbon fiber bodywork off the #13 prototype Ferrari after it wrecked, and the guys next to us came back with a bunch of bent wheels from various Porsches.

I don't remember what our neighbors who came back with the bent wheels were driving, but I don't remember any H-A's nearby. We were camped out somewhere inside the infield lot on the NASCAR T3 side. (Like... go thru the tunnel and take your first left, then turn right and go into the grassy area in the middle.) We were between a white Maxima and a black Altima, if that helps.

What are the chances?

Jon

We were parked near nascar turn 4.It was the paddock area for the Motorolla cup cars on friday. There were 6 ITR's,assorted other Honda/Acura's and 2 3rd gen Rx-7's with us.
Dave,I just tallied up my expenses for the weekend.I spent $297 in 2 days on food and liquor.Somehow between 4pm and 3am on friday I managed to drink over 2 dozen Captain and cokes.

That would be Cliff's car, his brothers car and one of their friends. Mine is the slightly wrecked white GSR with black fake spoons that was in the middle of the field (on the other side of that group of tents near the red del sol).
