Whinning noise at high RPM!
Hi guys, have a problem here when ever i drive my car into high RPM's about 8000rpm the gear leaver area will give out a whinning noise!
I recently changed the MTF with 2.5qt of Redline 75w90.
What could be the problem?
I dont think justby changing the MTF will cause this noise, i have been driving my car for over 1yr and this is the first time i hear this.

I have a B16B LSD tranny. I thought thats the weight of oil i should use?
I just called a friend and he had the same problem, turns out his was the shifter bushings when he changed to the ES poly ones.
Once he changed it back to the stock ones teh noise went away.
I have Mugen shifter bushing but i doubt they are the problem. I have had them for 20k km and only this once when i change the MTF did i face this problem.
Well i am gonna try and if this is it or other reasons.

Is it more like a rattle sound?

Ohh yes thats it !
Did you find the cause or solution to the problem?
Mine happends when i am closer to 8000rpm
It's kinda funny in a way cause now i dont need a shift light and becoz when i hear the sound i know it almost time to shift!

I'm not 100% sure, but close
My clutch broke a couple of weeks ago at a track event. The rattling sound was getting real loud right before the clutch broke.
It turns out that a damper spring on the clutch plate has gotten loose ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1213278 ). Well I wont know for sure until I get the clutch open, but it definitively looks like it. This is a common error on ITR clutches due to metal fatigue on the clutch after some years
.
I had the rattling sound for about a year before it broke. So you better start saving for a new clutch. Especially if you track your car.

I've just changed my clutch, and the rattle sound didn't go away
. Anyone know what might cause this?
Lately I've also noticed generally increased noise from the gearbox. Sounds almost like worn bearings or something. Hope my gearbox isn't about to take a dump on me
