ok......
I'm having problems with the tach jumping around 4-5k, car hesitates at the same time. Then in vtec Tach goes crazy revving PAST THE 10k on my usdm itr cluster and bogs and back-fires really bad. Also smokes some when bogging and jerks the car around some. But runs better after attempting to engage vtec a few times but still bogs, backfires and hesitates.
Things I've replaced so far....
New Distributor (From Distributor King)
New MSD 8.5mm Spark Plug Wires
New NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
New T-Belt and Water-Pump
New Clutch (PP and disc)
Vtec Solenoid is minty
Changed the ignitor a few times and it fixed the problem temporarily.
Also when the new Dizzy was installed it fixed the problem temporarily and now it has come back to haunt me once again a few weeks/months and $700 later
When i say temporarily i usually runs fun for a few weeks and then oneday the Tach will jump and then before you know it I'm back to bogging
Problem started to occur ever since my Dizzy went on me after missing 3rd at 8900rpm, Tach went past the 10k mark and then car shut off (Missed 3rd due to a bad clutch) but that was 2 dizzy's and 2 ignitors ago since then i've replaced the things above......
93 cx hatch w/ jdm itr swap
99 gsr engine harness
P28 chipped to itr spec (not professionaly done)
usdm itr cluster @ the moment (going back to stock)
I plan on trying a different ECU to see if thats at fault but if its not then next are the injectors and then the fuel pump but......
Whoever figures out the problem w/o me spending anymore big bucks I'm willing to give them 50 BUCKS I'm paypal verified

What exactly does that mean?
Sounds like somethings up with your distributor wiring or that chip. Also any codes?
Also where in NY are you? Are you anywhere Ithacia because im going out that way wednesday to visit my friend at the college, if you still need help and your close i could help you out personally.

It means it wasn't chipped by Kenji or any other professional ECU reprogrammer. It was done by someone a long time ago learning to chip ECU's but it ran fine until the (Missed Gear) incedent. In other words the kid was more or less an amatur at chipping computers. I don't even know where th chip came from....

why don't you try a stock ECU for ***** and giggles?
Ithacia is about a hour from Syarcrus (sp?) Honestly i dont know NY to well but its like upstate NY.
After you missed shifted did you ever do a compression test? If so what were your numbers? Did just the tach go to 10k or did the whole motor go to 10k? I would try a valve adjustment.
When exactly does the car start to act up on you? Cold, Warm, whenever? Any codes?
Do you know anyone that you could swap ECU's with? Hell even a OBD1 GSR ecu will let you drive it, youll throw some codes but you could see if its the ecu or not.

Syracuse is far from me man like really far we're talkin like 4-5 hours i think
A compression Test hasn't been done on the motor since it was swapped in neither has a valve adjustment. My next Day off is thurs. so i plan do a comp. test on thurs and also a valve adjustment as well as the stock cluster and new harness.
About the motor going to 10k I'm not sure but i'm 80% sure it did because i jumped on the gas and missed the gear and it got extremely louder than it already was at 89k and then shut off
and just to make sure we're on the same page its the dash harness thats getting replaced not the engine harness.....

Yea that is a little far, sorry, ill try to help the best i can here then.
Get that compression test done first. That will tell you if its something serious or something stupid. You didnt have any problems until the motor revved that high right? Because if you havent had a problem then the only harness that would be bad is the engine harness, not the dash harness (unless if your going to convert to OBD2).
Is the motor still in OBD2 forum or OBD1 (meaning the dist, was it rewired for OBD1 or still OBD2 with the 4P and 2P coming out)

well unfortunately when i had the swap i done i didn't know too much so i'm not entirely sure I'd have to check but i DO know that the Dizzy has 1 plug as opposed to two and that i have a 99 GSR engine harness thats OBD2 but yet a P28 ECU w/ extra wires going to it i'm guessing for Vtec

I haven't replaced the fuel pump as of yet but at this rate it looks like i will be soon and how could i check the fuel delivery system?

ARE YOU SERIOUS? If my valves are bent looks like some Fresh Ferrara are gonna have a new home

Thats one of the things that a compression test will tell you.
Did this happen ever since you had the swap or just after you went over 10k. Because if it was happening ever since then we could go with the wiring idea. If it was after then you could go with the compression test needed (do the compression test anyway).
On the Dist. is there 2 plugs (one will have the blue and yellow/blk for ignition, then the 2nd will be an 8 pin plug (or is it a 4 pin plug)).

sounds like some wire problems, maybe but connectors to many, or some bad wiring touching something or stealing resistance from a source. Has to be some connections somewhare ........
