Legend Brakes.....VS....TL brembo's
Okay, so I just recieved my Legend two piston calipers with brand new pads.....Which I WAS planning on throwing onto my stock braked GSR.
I have yet to buy the rotors.
Now I am seeing a couple threads about the TL brembos for only $588 ($500 if I jump on it) from len. If I re-sell my brakes I just bought, that's only a $300 difference.
I will probally need brakes soon, and don't want to buy pads and rotors for my stock GSR's......
Do you guys think I will be satisfied with the Legend brakes, or sould I hold out till someone figures out these TL calipers. ?????????
BTW, my car is only 265whp now, but will soon be 600whp (getting closer to throwing the new setup in every day)
And it's not really a track or strip car, it's my DD, and I will occasionally go to the track and or strip.....btw, thats race gas, no way I'm driving around on c-16 every day haha
BTW, posted here b/c you guys track your cars, and are really hard on the brakes. Besides, you guys may actually car about this, because it could be a possible upgrade for your RRRR

for power and for stopping I think you'll be more tire limited
I have 11" on my LS, and very happy with it
honestly on a street car, you really won't notice much difference
if anything, i'd say keep your stock brakes, and just get some Cobalt GT Sports brake pads
that way you can run a smaller rim at the drag strip....using legend brakes you'll be forced to use a min of a 15" rim

I kinda wanted someting to match the pretty blue ray's stickers on my wheels

before i went 11"
I had Cobalt GT-Sports on my stock brakes with stock rear pads.....car stopped great
when i went to 11" with itr calipers and GT-Sport brake pads...I didn't really perceive any noticeable difference on the street
its when you really beat on the brakes in HPDE that I noticed its advantages

Legend Calipers are similar to NSX calipers; dual pistons. ITR calipers have a single piston.

I would not use those on a street car
not design to have serious stopping power
just to reduce weight

I didn't think stopping force was directly related to rotor diameter, that would be resistance to fade no ?
And iirc the Legend rotor is thicker so it Would actually be more resistant to fade, or at least have a higher thermal capacity.

yes, but using legend rotors on 4 lug would be a PITA and more work. I don't know of anyone running them
Diameter does have a direct relation to stopping force, being further away from the center, it provides more torque
resistance to fade is due to the heavier heatsink, in this case the rotor
edit: typo

only advantages of a multi piston caliper that uses the same pad and rotor; would be better pedal feel, and maybe better pad wear. Even some guys using the spoon calipers said that they didn't think it stopped faster, just felt better IE easier to modulate

I thought that this was the accepted way to run Legend (NSX) calipers; to use the Legend GS coupe rotors?? No offset problems, 5 lug drilled, just mount em up and go.
I will be putting 5 lug on my Si very soon, and had previously read to use the Legend GS rotors.

Legend rotors - I think that's what Big Phat R is running.
NSX rotors work on the DC2R, but take a bit more work - Bruno (Darkteg) had a walk-thru, but his pix0rs don't work anymore.

sorry, typo, I meant legend rotors on 4 lug
