sohc ZC motor running really rich

Default sohc ZC motor running really rich

ok my sohc Zc motor is running really rich and wont be able to pass smog and was wondering how can i solve this problem. the motor runs fine but kinda laggy sometimes. Is it worth it to get a safc to tune it or what should i do?

how are you running the engine? is it stock? what ecu? if its completely stock, and you have a d16a6 ecu (pm6? i'm terrible with remembering numbers)

if all that is good, try your o2 sensor.

its stock with intake but that doesnt matter i am running a pr4 ecu(dohc ls) but i ran a pm6 to smog it and it still ran too rich. aliitle less than with teh pr4 but still too rich. i did a complete tune up deon with o2 sensors changed out

ok here is a simple solution get a hf ecu and injectors and should pass just fine i was running the pr4 when i lived in vegas and wouldnt pass smogg but with the pm6 or even the pg7 it was allright but if your just having a problem with smogg just pop in a hf ecu and then test it and it will pass with colors

I had a leaky Throttle body gasket and cuzed it to run rich as hell. You could see the smoke coming out of exhaust and left residue on bumper. Changed out that gasket and was fine.....Dont ask why or how but that was the cure....
