Hey i got rockchips in my front bumper, and its plastic (OEM). I am planning on getting the car reapinted and was wondering how to smooth out the chips to that it is a smooth surface for painting? Can it be sanded with a fine grit? They arent very deep, but they are deep enought o where paint wont fill them to smooth...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Use Polyflex, it's pretty much bondo, but it flex's...imagine that. But honestly, if they aren't that deep, just use polyflex. The process is the same as bondo. Add some hardener, mix it, apply it, let it dry, sand it, feather the edges.
Although if they're deep or they're any cracks you have to use some type of plastic goo. Sorry I don't know the name off the top of my head. But it's a tube of a clear gel and a black gel that you lock into a trigger mechanism and when you pull the trigger it squeezes out. You also attach a ribbed piece of plastic that comes with it on the back of the area you're applying it too (mainly refering to cracks that penetrate all the way through the plastic).
