ill get a shot of my two 10's when it stops raining. I built it so I could still use my trunk and keep the spare tire.

I fiberglassed mine though, it is the only way maximize your space.

It wasnt hard though, took me about a week of off and on work.

none at all, I just did a little research on it from some write ups to get an idea. It also helped talking to a local stereo shop; they were able to give me some valuable info about size requirements, build specs and how to point the sub for best sound.

Tomorow should be a good day.

It is nice, I have my 5 channel 500 watt amp mounted on the back of the rear seat and 10" sub on each side of the trunk. I can fit my portfolio bag (36x24?) in trunk with no problems

very valid and informative response. show me how you made your speakerbox and maintainted virtually full trunk space and spare tire.

you could make an MDF box, but it wouldnt fit snugly into the corners like a glassed box does.

MDF box. Steel plate over the spare tire compartment. Custom welded brackets to hold the box in place. I have spent $200 so far on this project and will probably put another $100 or so in.

heres what i did when i had one 12. take out the spare tire and jack but keep the cover. i reinforced it with new wood underneath since it was bent from having all my baseball **** back there last yr. measure the size of the sub box and cut that into the spare tire cover thingy. the sub has to be facing up btw if u werent smart enough.

took me long enough, but here are those pics of my two 10's

I did this with no prior experience, I just did some research and asked some shops.

From behind - you can see the amp mounted to the seat, and the subs in each corner by the tail lights. notice I have barely lost any trunk space.

this is the first one I did, as you can see, I didnt measuer one corner right, and I had to use some chims to make it hold correctly. One day I will make it match the car.

Here is the other side, I made sure not to have the same gap as before, this one fits great.

took me about a week of free time to do.

Its not a speaker box (still working on that ) but here is my amp rack i made from scratch with fiberglass.

Here it is before it was finished so you can see it better.

It keeps the truck really clean and only takes up about 3 inches into the trunk.
when im done the trunk will have on 12" sub and should have plenty of room for whatever.

yeah but no one can sit in your back seat now, and that looks like a nice theft magnet.

Dont get me wrong, it looks really good, the finish came out great! But I like how mine is all hidden, and I have my back seats if needed.

if you look where it mounts on the bottom, it lays ontop of the part where the rear seats mount to. The spot that allows them to pivot.

maybe I am just retarded, who knows.

simple, I made a Y harness that runs to the amp. I also made the harness using quick connect cables incase I need to take one or both out for any reason.

Most sub boxes use the same kind of Y type wire harness.

So did you run them in series or parallel? And whats the amp stable to? Not a bad job for your first time glassing though.

parallel, and I cant answer stability, I have had that amp for a few years and I never really crank it. I set it up a while ago.
