Benifits of changing headgasket to up compression?
What could i expect by upping my compression? I'm asking b/c my valve guide seal's are bad and im going to go ahead and do a head job and maybe some ctr cams. thanks
Wont be a noticeable difference. Stock HG thickness for a b-series is what? Probably somewhere between .030 and .040? You might gain .4 - .5 of compression by removing your HG altogether, and even less than that by running a thinner gasket.
Now in conjunction with different pistons, or a milled head, it might be a little better, but just the HG alone probably wont net you any noticeable power. Just a guess?
