need advice...have opportunity to buy CRX Si.
There's an red 88 CRX Si for sale in my area for $750. It has a blown head gasket, and needs a windshield. I was thinking of buying it, fixing it, cleaning it up really good, then selling it.
Do you think if I invested 1,500 total (i think i could fix it up pretty nicely for that much)....then sold it i could make a profit??
what i'd do
-HG,
-Windshield
-replace timing belt, water pump, other gaskets (if needed)
-Add I/H/E, coilovers (i already have this stuff)
-detail interior and exterior
-fresh paint (Econo.Maaco, self prepped, wet sanded and buffed)
-miata 14's (gold w/polished lip, don't have these yet, can pick some up for $75)
how much do you think i could get for it?

Ya Know that sounds good .. but even with all that **** I dont think you'll be able to pull more then 3k. I'am selling a 88 crx si right now , its Mint with new paint and im expecting about 2200 .. I would buy it and make it stock.
that's cool, if i could do it for $1,500 the i'd be glad to sell it for 2,200. i'm going to take a look at the car tomorrow. I called the guy and it's MISSING the windshield. I had assumed it was cracked. He said it's had something covering it, but some rain water still got in.
hopefully it will be in good condition, or maybe he'll come down on the price.

lol...iced earth, don't they sing the war/battle songs? "when the eagle cries"
i was thinking about keeping it while i build my gsr motor for my CX, or maybe building a SOHC turbo for the CRX.....but in the end i'll end up selling it, and i want to make money on this.
i know clean Si's are getting harder to find, and i'm sure they'll start appreciating in value one day. (hopefully so will eg's) Might just buy it and fix it up and wait to sell it until i can make a profit. like 2015

today was a dream crusher
someone bought the $75 miata wheels
the CRX was a piece...the windshield is actually missing, and the driver side window......every panel was dented, parts were missing...sad. Oh well.
like i said it's getting hard to find a nice CRX....especially for cheap
