Default Dragging with Azenis

I know that Azenis are not the best for drag racing due to their stiff sidewall but...
I'm going to the track on Wed. and I have a set on some spare wheels that are practically brand new.

I want to run them because they are way stickier tires than my street tires, so that should help me out coming out of the hole despite the sidewall.
My question for you guys is, would it help to run lower tire pressure in them? Maybe like 20PSI?

Or any other tips to using them on the strip?

20 PSI should do it....

start at 23, and go from there.

What about heating them up? Will that help any or are they like most street tires and I should avoid the burnout box?

if you choose to heat it up,try burning it out for like 5-7 seconds coz a little screech wont do a thing.i also suggest 18-19 psi.thats wut i do here.you should also consider your rim size.

skinny rim = lower pressure, fat rim = higher pressure

heat those things up good and make sure the tred isnt cupping from the pressure being too low

depending on your rim size, id say set them around 20psi +/- 2..... azenies are better for drag then most street tires, however i dont think they are ideal because they are designed for road racing/autox which gives them stiff sidewalls. a softer sidewall is more ideal for drag racing

are u allmotor? if so, i'd go to 15psi...that's my usual psi for dragging on azenis. get a good burnout and dump it at around 4.5-5.5 grand. find ur sweet spot, mine is at 5 grand.

15 PSI? Holyshit man that seems low, but that's what you run?
Yeah, I'm all motor. It's not built or anything though, it's a stock H22a in a 97 Integra RS. I'm hoping to at least cut a 14 flat, but I'd really like a 13. I know I can run one if I get traction.

The tires are on GSR fat fives, so they are 15x? I think 5.5 or 6.0, so from what everyone says I should be around 20PSI except the last guy who said 15. Anyone else go that low? And heating them up is good as long as it's done right.

What's the best 60' times you guys have gotten with these tires?

2.15 is pretty damn good for anything short of drag radials or slicks.

I was running 30psi in ny 195 60 14's and yanking 2.1 60's in an EK hatch, then once the turbo spooled they just broke loose like no other for the next several hundred feet, but at $50 a tire who cares.

I'm not running turbo so I don't have to worry about the tires breaking loose except off the line. If I can cut a 2.1 I'll be very happy.

quick burnout works great. they do need to be heated a little to work well. they also work best when they are damn near wore out. mine have always ben best with about 2-4/32 tread left.
