Default about the "ACURA" lettering on the back...

there pretty much almost done with my car now and i wanted to have the "ACURA" lettering shaved off the trunk and replace the red A with a red H to match the front bumper's red H. They said to save it they would have to repaint the whole trunk and that means alot more money and the type-r sticker will have to be taken off... i dont know if its worth it... is there any way to cleanly take that acura lettering off without a repaint? are there holes behind the lettering? What should i do?

There are holes behind the "Acura" lettering. However, not sure why they'd have to repaint the lower half where the ITR decal is...

Yup, if you shave you have to paint the whole hatch (usually ~$200). Don't let 'em paint the bottom half (bumper) where the typeR sticker sits.

They would only have to repaint the hatch if you want the "ACURA" badge "shaved... Shaved meaning the holes filled... Touch up paint will not work.. I suggest what I am doing, I put the red "H" on, and then just ordered a "HONDA" badge from the UK and put it on, it does not have holes but at least it covers the holes from the "ACURA" badge..

Oh and I chose to order one from the UK, because the ones from here have black between the letters and I think it looks tacky, where as the UK "HONDA" badge is all chrome or silver. Whichever you prefer.

Sorry, kinda rushing to judgement here, but if they have to paint more than necessary, then I would question their work quality. They shouldn't have to paint more than what's necessary. (afterall, you wouldn't let 'em re-paint the whole car just because of the hatch, right?)

Actually those are the ones with the black background between the letters.... I got my UK Spec HONDA badge from a UK Honda dealer. My grandparents have a house in England and are there pretty much all the time, they travel back and forth so I just asked them to pick me up one.. If you would like one let me know, or you can call any Honda dealer in the UK and ask for a HONDA badge for an integra.
