just keep up with the usual maintenance work and tune up, change out all fluids, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve adjustment, pcv valve, o2 sensor, tire pressure, air filter, fuel filter, and shift when the green shift light goes on

Go through the full tank before you get worried about bad mileage, you have to keep in mind that the CX has a 8 gallon tank so a 1/4 tank is 2 gallons so thats almost 30 mpg.

Bullshit the CX has an 8 gallon tank. They should all have 10.0 with some other Civics having 11.9. I know I've put 9.3 gallons in my tank before. Does the odometer read properly... either that or the gauge is just completely whack. I can get freaking 35 around town and like 42 on highway.

The gas tank in my 96 CX is I believe 11 gallons and I usually get 320-350 per tank to and from work. I ran to Atlanta 2 weeks ago and running 70 the whole way I got 425 miles out 1 tank of gas. It usually only takes me about 9.5 to fill it up. I was getting about 250-300 per tank before I put a new fuel filter on, so you may try that. Also I noticed that I get bad gas mileage if I consitantly run above 70mph on the interstate, so it also depends on driving habits.
