Default Cracked Header!!!!!

Well I noticed today when I was driving that my car would make this little pssssssssssssssttttt sound when I would accelerate. My friend was like wow you have a turbo in this thing and I was like euhhhhhh no.... So I popped the hood and saw a little crack on the header btw #2 and #3. When I mean 2 and 3 its the pipes that connect to the engine. Also there is some black stuff around the crack which I think is carbon but correct me if I am wrong. So how bad is it affecting me, like could I have lost some power, gas mileage anything? Just give me a hand plz.

Dave

You could probably have someone do a quick weld line on it and itll be fine.

well is your header stock or is it something else???

if its stock then toss some money down and get a new performance header

but its you already have a good header then just have them weld it shut cheap

edit:

like someone said up there, your probly losing some hp and some gas mileage but not a significant amount to notice immediatly

no its a the stock one, I will probably just throw it out but what would you suggest as a replacement. I have a D16Y8 with just an intake and I am getting a Tanabe Hyper complete exhaust kit soon!!.

Yeah, just sounds like a good reason to upgrade. It isnt going to hurt much while you save up.

I bought a holly airmass for 100$ new. I can say it is very decent for the price, the welds look good and fits great..and for the people that have cops bother them it has a carb number! I would check this out if you arent willing to spend 250$ on a DC header

you should get a flex pipe welded in so you wont have to worry about the new header cracking, unless you have hasports or some stiff motor mounts
