I just need a harness clarification....
I know that the rules changed this year regarding harnesses and yes I have a rulebook. Somone please take a look at the pics and let me know if you think that the techs are going to give me a problem. The only thing that I am questioning here is the attachment of the straps to the crossbar. Thanks!

You're probably going to have to add a u-shaped "loop" to each side to kep the belts from sliding side to side. The way it is now, they can slide off your shoulders. Especially with those stock seats. I didn't have them originally, but the tech let me slide once because it was a new rule. They remembered me the next time, luckily I added the loops.

Edit: Just noticed they're wrapped wrong as well. You should slide the buckle up the belt like you have it and come under the bar. Wrap under and around towards the front and got through the buckle. Then double the loose end back and go through the buckle one more time. Just like you learn in rock climbing, if the buckle looks like a "D", you're in Danger. If the buckle looks like a "C", you're in the Clear.

What if we weld the extra set of tabs to the bar and run the belt though that? That would prevent the harness from sliding horizontally.
If you're refering to welding a mounting point off your cross bar at which the "harness" can be bolted to it, that'll work just fine. It is however, easier to just run a thin solid bar around each strap. Either way will work though.
Cool I know exactley what you mean. Does anyone have any pics of theirs just for ***** and giggles. I will prob just weld the extra connector (if it is steel) that comes with the harness just because I already have it.
Take a look at the GSC car, they have them. I didnt have time to weld the loops over the harness either and when i was at the ndra race in md. they told me i needed them, but let me slide.
