cam gears dont give you HP
what wrong with you is bad timming thats all
so just align it and you will see that it will run like normal...

it isnt the gears fault, sounds like ur timing isnt adjusted properly, if timing is adjusted properly and the gears set at 0 adv or retard u can onlt have a gain from it, even though it is small the weight reduction of the rotating mass will help with quicker revs and maybe a hp from the light weight design(even though problly not noticable) Cam gears are only needed with aftermarket cams even thought they can be used on the stock cams to play with valve overlap

yes but was the engine set to TDC and stock cam gears and crank alligned before their removal. If not that is ur problem since even though the gear is on 0 they cam is in a diff position since it wasnt alligned properly before install

This makes me laugh. Why are you taking cam gears off? You're being stupid. Just set timing right, and everything will be fine.

set the crank at the slanted mark on the lower timing belt cover, make sure both cam gears line up when the crank pulley mark is lined up. If they aren't pull the timing belt off the gears, adjust the cam that isn't straight up, and re-install the timing belt. I doubt you have altered the cam gears yet, make sure the allens are tight though.

267 post and asking if an underdrive pulley will give him horse power. makes people wonder. and to solve your dilemma just take them off sell them to some homie and problem solved. you have to be wise when it comes to situations like these...... a wise man once told me "Go to bed with itchy butt, Wake up with brown Finger"

Holly crap......
Man you really need to search before you purchase any more parts.

Cam gears WILL NOT ADD OR TAKE AWAY ANY HP!!!!!!! They are made to help adjust aftermarket cams to gain the most about of HP from them. They really only become usefull when you have the car dyno tuned and the tuner makes minor adjustments to pull a few extra HP.

An under drive pully will free up HP, but one again just the under drive pully WILL NOT ADD ANY HP. What this means is your engine make 150hp, but by the time you put the AC, PS, Alternator belts on you "loose" a few HP because the engine now hase to use some power to move thoses belts. When you underdrive, or even get rid of some of thoses belt you free up HP. The chances of actually noticing anytihng of this is very small.

TDC is top dead center, meaning your #1 piston is right at the top of its stroke. This is the basis of all motor adjustments. You set you timing at TDC, you adjust valves starting at TDC, the marks on the block for timing are for TDC, the cam gear adjustemnts are made at TDC.

But serious search before you waste any more money on parts. What you are doing is called lego building, this will end up to very little HP gain, and a big empty spot in you wallet.

take the adj cam gears off, throw them on a good set of cams with your stock valve train and then tune the car
