Default sputtering

I have a 93 sol with a d15B7 in which i recently replaced the headgasket. i also found that one of my coolant tempreature sensors was bad which made my fan not come on. I ahve been running it on a switch untill to day when i bought a new engine coolant temp sensor, the one on the thermo housing. Now as my car starts to heat up it wants to sputter and stall. what is wrong? I have yet to check foe cells

121,000 I have never done a tuneup. I am planning on getting a new cap rotor wires, and plugs. It came with accel wires and NGK-R plugs, but I'm guessing the cap and rotor are still OE. Think that will help some?
