Default 85' CRX Questions

Hey guys, I found an 85' CRX for $300, the body's in great condition and it runs. I was really hoping to buy something like an 88' but this is a great deal. So I have a few questions. Is it easy to convert the 85' to look like an 88'? Also is it any harder to swap a b16 into an 85 than it is in the newer ones? Are there any write ups on it? Thanks a lot

I just bought a 87, real fun car but hard to tune up and all. Has torsion bars up front. Engine swap is a lot harder, make sure it is an Si to do a swap. I dont know about making it look like the 88......

Yeah, please don't lose much sleep over that, it's really not worth it. The old CRXs look good the way they are.

The swap is more difficult, and a real pain in the *** if it's a carbed car. Replacing fuel lines = barf.

haha lucky thing I saw this . I am very familiar with 1g and 2g CRX I guess you could say I am not closed minded, haha j/k.

It matters if your car is SI. If it is fuel injected it will be fairly simple just a tighter compartment.

things don't just swap in as easily as the 2g.

The mount positions are different. The engine is actually in a world of its own. Any other motor besides the 1g CRX/3g Civic or 1g Integra will not fit without proper mount kits or special axles

The b-series swap is not that easy. The d-series you will need to make motor mounts itself.

Fun cars. Good suspension for autocrossing . Although it is a lot different compared to 2g CRX's it is pretty easy to work with.

You could always do some kind of build with dual Webbers or something.
