Default OLD BIKE, NEW PLASTIC?

I recently found a 1991 CBR 600 and i was wondering if I could purchase the plastic and stickers for a newer CBR, have it painted and simply bolt it on to my older bike with little or no modification? Where could I find thie plastic and how do i figure out whether or not it will fit (there are other bikes i may buy instead) Thanks for your help!

'91 is still the Hurricane right? I don't think most newer plastics will just fit without any modifaction. I'd say just buy the ones for the Hurricane, it'll save you some trouble.

How bad are the current fairings? You will find that the F1 model of the CBR600 is pretty pricey when it comes to replacement fairings/parts. The F2/3s are much more interchangeable in terms of fairing fitment. I suggest street-fightering your bike.

Otherwise, you could try sharkskinz or airtech.

Guy's he's got a '91. So he has an F2. You can use plastics from 91-98 CBR's. I believe the 91-94 F2's and 95-96 F3's are all the same. The 97-98 F3's got an updated look so if you found a full set of plastics from a 97-98 F3 you should be able to swap everything over. May need a new headlight, as I can't remember right now.

Again my typical response is to check eBay for these bikes. You can probably piece together like 3 sets on there usually at any given time.

Arrrrgh...that's right...91 was the start of F2s. Good catch there man.

97/98 fairings have a different tail section and tail light from the 91/96 F2/3.

Hey, I should know these things. Yeah, they restyled it a little. The entire plastic set was different. If you can score an entire 97-98 plastic set and headlight (and taillight too that I forgot to mention) they should all be able to transfer over to the 91-96 bikes.

I have no clue if the 99-00 can be retrofitted easily or not, and I wouldn't imagine anything past that would be even worth your time.
