Default SOHC V-tec power?

I just got a 95' civic ex sedan, it has the sohc v-tec engine in it, I have put good $$ into it replacing everything that I find reason to since I first got it 11,000 miles ago. It runs like a dream and is a blast to drive(to me) since its my first manual car. But I Dont know if I want to start replacing STOCK PARTS with PERFORMANCE PARTS (exhaust, computer, turbo kit, suspension, headers, cooling, tranny, clutch, and possibly a few body mods). I have no idea what kind of power U can get out of the d16 SOHC v-tecs. Pics, tips, stories and examples would all be greatly appreciated Oh and also I was wondering if anyone else had seen a 95 civic ex with stock front and rear disk brakes? mine came with it and parts stores never have my car with rear disk brakes in their computers so i got 95 Integra rear pads and rotors and they work.

go with forged internals (low compression pistons/forged h-beams) and put a nice cam with a good valve train and then do a hmt kit and you'll be able to get some good power. use a nice t3/t4 and a good manifold., a good wastegate, get the oil lines and intercooler piping and the intercooler and a chipped ecu and get it tuned and you could be pretty damn fast.

http://www.homemadeturbo.com is what the guy above me is referring to. Basically he's saying build your engine and build a custom turbo kit for it, just thought I'd help clarify that.

Depends how much power you want out of it, since it's your first manual I would NOT try to turbocharge it, even though that would be the cheapest way to get really good power out of it.

If I were you I'd just do the standard intake, headers, exhaust mods then move onto bigger better stuff after you feel comfortable with working on your car.

You say that like STS doesn't make turbo kits that use both headers and snails, tool.

Instead of all you noobies beating this kid up for asking a question, why not at least show him a thread that has some alternatives instead of outright mocking him. I mean, ****, if you're going to tear him up, at least understand the **** you're slinging.

And it's VTEC, not v-tec.

Enjoy your stay and learn to fight back or you'll get walked on by members who can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. Some of these geniuses are the same ************* who install Omnipower control arms upside down and then make threads complaining that **** broke . It's always best taken with a grain of salt.

And the Si has rear disc brakes so you can have them look those up if EX doesn't work with the part store's computer system.

just sell the single cam and get a twin cam. Then start from there.

Why? What's wrong with single cams? They are 5 times cheaper and a dime a dozen.

I disagree. DOHCs are not the answer to everything. A lot can be done with SOHCs to make them fun on a budget
