Default Ignitor problem.......I think

Ok....I recently cleaned my engine compartment on my b16......

Well, a day later, and it runs VERY BAD!! Bogging badly.

Anyways, the cap, rotor, ignition coil, and plugs are brand new. And I checked the timing with my timing light, and I noticed soemthing....

When I held the motor at 2 or 3k rpms..... the plugs where miss firing! Not all the time, but kinda at random.

What do yall think the problem is ? And if yall think it is the ignitor, where is that located ?

yes...starts good....idles fairly goods too....but when I rev or decelerate....I misses.

I hope it is just water, I can't really afford the 150 dollars for a new ignition module thingy !!!

anyone got a sure fire way of knowing if it is the ignitior/ignition module ?

bump !......

I checked the plugs, and they were black....I sandpapered them and it runs a little better now, but it still misses fire like before.

I have a brand new ignitor for a B16A2 laying in my garage. I bought it a while back thinking my ignitor went bad, when in fact was a connection on my MSD. If you still need one, let me know, I'll sell it to you for cheaper than the one from Autozone. By the way, I bought mine straight from the Honda dealership. Still in the bag with paperwork. Good luck!

Try checking the inside of the distributor cap for moisture.
